The Lifecycle of Sorbit Diapers

Picture

Agricultural Citrus Waste

We make juice from agricultural citrus waste to make growth media.

Grow Bacterial Cellulose

It takes about 2 weeks to grow a thick sheet of BC.

Blend Bacterial Cellulose

Treated bacterial cellulose is blended into solution and frozen to create a crystalline structure.

Freeze Dry

The frozen solution is freeze dried in the food science facility to remove all water leaving only bacterial cellulose, thus forming an aerogel.

Further Experiments

The aerogel is then incorporated to a biodegradable diaper made from fruit material and spores within it aid in decomposing the diaper.
